FABULOUS, ULTRA RARE KRAUSWERK 45 ACP LUGER

CARBINE. Cal. 45 ACP. S#4. Although Krauswerk has long been known for making the best quality reproduction M1906 .45 cal and Baby Lugers. What most collectors don't realize, is that Krauswerk also made at least 2 .45 ACP Luger carbines! Although the S# on this example is "4", it is not known if the guns were made consecutively as the consignor was very specific in wanting a S# 4 carbine to match the SN of his M1906 & Baby Luger. The carbine was made using the same equipment as for the M1906 pistols, modified to have a longer bbl., a forward frame extension for forearm attachment, a modified rear toggle (still marked w/ the intertwined "GL" but devoid of the rear sight), & a backstrap with integral lug for shoulder stock attachment. The only other marking was the intertwined "DWM" on the middle toggle link & the S# "4" applied to the forward frame extension. The bbl. measures 16.25" long &, as per the original carbine, has a long serrated ramped base leading to a bead-profile dovetailed front sight. The sliding rear sight is mounted in front of the receiver & is graduated w/ "1", "2" & "3" markings. Trigger, safety lever & grip safety are per the standard production guns. Fitted w/walnut checkered panels. The unmarked shoulder stock is very similar to that of the standard carbine in having a 2-screw lug, a locking lever on the left side & a serrated buttplate secured w/ 2 screws. The forend & buttstock are checkered to emulate the original & each are fitted w/ rotating sling swivels. MAGS: folded metal mag. whose plug is secured by 2 pins. CONDITION: the carbine presents as new & unfired though the buttstock has a few microscopic handling marks. Frankly, if you want the biggest, baddest Luger Carbine in the United States, this may be your only opportunity!
