Partly-printed DS, one page, 8 x 7, June 31, 1889. Document by which Roebling, on behalf of John A. Roebling's Sons & Co., appoints Percy R. Pyne, George Bliss, and E. S. Higgins as proxies "to appear at a Meeting of the Stockholders of the New York, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Company." Signed at the conclusion by Roebling as treasurer and countersigned by Edgar W. Warren as a witness. In fine condition.

Ferdinand W. Roebling (1842-1917) was the son of John A. Roebling, the builder of the Brooklyn Bridge; F. W. Roebling became a partner in his father's wire rope business, significantly expanding it. The witness, Edgar Warren, fought at Gettysburg as a captain.
