American, Albany, New York, watercolor on ivory. Old typed label on verso reads: William McCracken Lathrop son of Hon. Samuel Lathrop year 1833 #1024. Framed. 3.75" high x 2.50" wide (sight). William McCracken Lathrop was the great grandson of Rev. John Lathrop, an early settler of Plymouth colony in 1634.

Condition: William McCracken Lathrop (1806- 1875), born in West Springfield, Massachusetts, was a businessman in New York, New York, and the great-grandson of Rev. John Lathrop who emigrated from England and settled in Plymouth colony in 1634.

Ezra Ames(1768-1836) born in Framingham, Massachusetts, lived in Albany, New York from 1795 to the end of his life. A prolific painter, his subjects included Albany's leaders and their families.
