Extremely rare and fine condition double barrel flintlock rifle by royal gun maker Le Page of Paris in .36 caliber with microgroove hand cut rifling probably made on order for a young squire or royal personage in the early 19th century. This rifle is gold inlaid “Le Page of Paris” on the top rib of the barrel and signed in two circular cartouches at the center portion of each lock. This arm shows gold touch holes with platinum lined pans. The rifle is half stocked in a figured grain Walnut with crisp checkering and classic empire styling with scroll carved cheekpiece. The locks, hammers and mounts are case hardened and 80% to 90% of this case hardening just dulling slightly but still very colorful. The barrelretains 95% plus of its original bright blue. The locks show empire styling with beautiful swan neck hammers and all original parts. The arm retains its original loading rod which shows a matching blue to the barrel with a brass tip and theoverall condition is fine to excellent . The rifle measures 42” overall with a 25 ½” barrels and weighs under 6 pounds with a 14” pull from the trigger to the end of the butt plate. Several advanced European arms collectors agreed this is
