Extremely high-quality Indian match-lock carbine, circa 18th to 19th century, with watered and gold damascene barrel, silver lockplates, and silver mounts. The carbine measures 41-1/2” overall, with 24-1/4” barrel showing cannon type muzzle, and water-steel pattern with gold damascene decorations. The gun is in good condition and is .50 caliber smoothbore. The gun is nicely stocked in a select hardwood similar to rosewood withselect grain. The stock is good to very good with a couple of small losses, normal aging. The lockplate and sideplate are solid silver. As is the silver cap on the butt, bands, and other mounts. The carbine shows a band for a sling and would be a perfect size for carrying on horseback as a cavalry type carbine. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
