British India, 1888, India General Service Medal, Victoria Queen, Bronze, Unnamed, Clasp "SIKKIM-1888", Obv: bust of Queen Victoria facing left, lettering "VICTORIA REGINA" around, Rev: Victory crowning a semi-nude seated warrior, bar with clasp "SIKKIM-1888", plain edge, 35.7g, 36.16mm, (MYB 2007 # 117), about very fine, Extremely Rare.
Note: Awarded in both silver and bronze for the Sikkim campaign of 1888 against raiders from Tibet. Bronze medals were awarded to non-combatants. The Sikkim clasp is rare and seldom found.
