Extremely Rare Two-Piece Box marked ''Robin Hood Smokeless Rimfire Cartridges'', manufactured by Robin Hood Ammunition Co./Swanton, VT., U.S.A.'' Both side labels marked ''.22 Cal. Robin Hood Smokeless'' over ''Cartridge Cut Short'' with ''R'' on base. Box contains one round. Robin Hood Co. was formed in 1896 by Edward Dickson, and at that time was called The Robin Hood Powder Co. In 1906 the company's name was changed to The Robin Hood Ammunition Co. In 1915 Robin Hood was sold to UMC, dating this box between 1907-1914. Condition is excellent with light toning and discoloration, but still remaining over 95% vivid, with all colors bright.
