Primitive hand turned salt glaze three gallon stoneware churn by the Kirkpatricks prior to their relocation to Anna, Illinois in the late 1850's. Impressed block "3" stamped below the rim of the churn. Cobalt blue stencil stamp reveals "Mound City" above this the words are not legible. The churn has two applied handled on the sides. The churn is in fair condition with a two inch crack in the front and on the back near the top of the churn. These repairs have been unprofessionally restored. The surface of the churn is in fine condition. H 14" W 8 1/2"
