Pre-Stamp Cover, 1858, Steamer Cover, Jaulnah to Bolarum, Bearing 1 As., this mail was carried by waterways, dispatched postmark of a rectangular box with three-line compartments in Black ink that reads “JAULNAH | 1858 MAY 22 | Bearing I as (in MSS)”, it was addressed to Jain Guruji (Saint), Jivanmal ji Sukhlal Ji of Jain sect “Lunka Gacchha” in the modia script. The delivery postmark of Black ink in a semi-concentric circular form that reads as “BOLARUM | 1858 | 27 MY” was applied with another seal of Red ink “1st D” in a square box.  Bolarum is a locality of Secunderabad Cantonment, Hyderabad, in Excellent Condition, Extremely Rare.

Note: Jaulnah or Jalna as it is known today is situated on the bank of the Kundalaka river, it was a part of erstwhile Hyderabad State. In 1855, there was a conflict between the Rohillas and the Company’s troops, where Rohillas surrendered in the end. Presently it is a town of Marathwada in the Aurangabad division of Maharashtra state.
