Queen Victoria Envelope, 1895, , ½ Anna Green Cover, Intaglio Seal, dispatched from Bikaner to Bissau, Imperial post office postmark “BIKANEER | Fe 1 |95”, transit mark in Intaglio bearing Bikaner state’s Native dak postmark in Devanagari that reads “Sri | Mohur Dak | Sri Lunkaransar | Raj Sri | Bikaner | Sambat 1952”, It took the route via a small town named Sri Lunkaransar and was ultimately delivered at Bissau with the date on the postmark of Vikram Samvat year 1952. The delivery postmark was applied on 11th Feb 1895, postmark reads “BISSAU | FE 11 | 95”, very good and intact condition, Unrecorded and Unreported Cancellations, Extremely Rare.
Note: It is an interesting cover that has a seal of the Hindu calendar Vikram Samvat applied on it. Daks (posts) of native state Bikaner were carried by Camels on their back.
