Gandhi, 1948, Private First Day Registered Cover, Bombay to USA, complete set of 4V Stamps tied on the cover, dispatched by Registered Air Mail with two labels tied, first being blue label ‘By Air Mail Par Avion’ at the front and second being ‘R X 973 | BOMBAY G.P.O’ at back. All four stamps are neatly cancelled by a single postmark “BOMBAY G. P. O. | 15 AUG 1948 | JAI HIND in Nagari script”, cancellation of New York and New Kensington applied at back. Gandhi’s image printed on left with the text ‘Father of Indian Nation’ above it, excellent condition, Extremely Rare.
