Prisoner of War Cover, 1946, By Air Mail, King George VI period, YOL Camp (Kangra Valley, India), George VI 8As stamp is tied, sent from Bombay to Napoli (Italy). Dispatch cancellation “BOMBAY R.M.S. 7 MAY 1946”. Handwritten “By Air Mail” and rectangular Black ink seal of AIR MAIL applied. Endorsed by “Written in Italian” by hand at the front, “172” round seal on the back. Complete details of prisoner/sender given “Letter no. register as 71629, Rank of sender “Second Lieutenant”, Camp No. 26 (1no Wing) Group V, “YOL”, Kangra Valley-INDIA, excellent condition, Extremely Rare.
Note: This cover was meant to be used from the G.P.O. at Bombay which was strikethrough and used at YOL Camp.
