Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II (Vikramaditya) (375-415 CE), Gold Dinar, "Lion Slayer" type, Obv: the king standing, is seen mid-hunt, wearing a dhoti, holding a bow in his left hand with the right releasing the bowstring, the lion is facing the king and seen falling backward probably with an arrow in its mouth, the Brahmi legend "Narendra chandrah (prathitarano rane jayatyajayyo bhuvi sinha vikramah)” around the field, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seen wearing jewelry on her ears, seated in Sattvasana pose on a lion slaying to the left with its head up, the goddess is seen holding a lotus in her left hand, whose stem is coming from inside the hand resting on her thigh and right hand is shown as a varadamudra gesture symbolizing dispensing of bones, tamgha in the top left field, the Brahmi legend "Simhavikramah" in the right field, 7.67g, 18.50mm, (Altekar, Bayana Hoard # Pl. XVII-7/TGE, S. Kumar # Class III-Var. A.5.1), about very fine, Extremely Rare.
