Extremely Rare Italian Model 38  Bolt Action Carcano Carbine with Attached Side Mounted Grenade Laun
This is a very rare "Special Troops" (Truppe Speciali) variant Italian bolt action carbine, the top of the rear portion of the barrel is marked with "GARDONE / V.T. / 929-VII" and the serial number on the left. Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight graduated to 1500 meters, with iron battle sight underneath the adjustable arm. The carbine is equipped with a matching numbered side mounted grenade launcher with it's own receiver. Mounted with a full length, one piece straight grip stock and handguard with "LP" in a circle on the left side at the receiver and a round "FARBRIC D'ARMIR FERNI 1929" Coat of Arms and matching serial number on the left side of the buttstock. There is another example of this unique carbine photographed on the top of page 476 of "Small Arms of The World" by Smith.

Condition: Excellent. The carbine and grenade launcher retain 95% original finish.There are a few minor scratches and dings on the launcher.The stock is very fine with a few minor gouges and overall some minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. An extremely rare and unique World War II Italian weapon.
