Note: Ujjain, renowned for the ancient Mahakaleshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, holds significant religious importance as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and 18 Shaktipeeths in Sanatan and Hindu traditions. Over the past 2000 years, the Ujjaini region has given numerous coins, many featuring the deity God Shiva, adding to its numismatic prominence. Akbar, marking his conquest in AH968/969, became the first Mughal ruler to issue coins with the mint name 'Ujjain,' a practice later continued by subsequent rulers. The addition of the epithet 'Dar-ul-Fath,' designating it as a seat of conquest, further emphasized its historical significance. Acquiring gold mohurs bearing the complete mint and epithet 'Dar-ul-Fath Zarb Ujjain' is extremely difficult.
