Established by Charles Parker shortly after the Civil War, Parker Bros. has produced a wide variety of shotguns in different styles over the years. Parker shotguns are perhaps the best known of all American shotguns manufactured and are among the most collectable. This shotgun has blue Damascus barrels and trigger guard and casehardened remaining parts. Each set of barrels has a concave matte solid rib with extension, double bead sights and is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL" with pointing arrows at each end. Chambered for 2 3/4" shells, barrels gauge at full/skeet on one set and modified/cylinder on the other, with extractors. Each barrel set has its own checkered splinter forearm both numbered to the gun and numbered "1" and "2". The action, trigger guard, forearm hardware and break lever are highly engraved with fine floral scroll patterns. Amid the engraving on each side of the action is a hunting dog on point with a man with a shotgun and engraved "PARKER BROS" in a banner. The underside of the action and trigger guard have two hunting dogs and there is a running buffalo at the front. The right side of the water table is marked with the two line patent marking and the left side is marked "6 / serial number / A". Tang mounted automatic safety and double gold washed triggers. Mounted with a nicely grained select pistol grip stock with Fleur-de-lis stock flats having a checkered recess in the center and a fancy border on the wrist checkering, Parker Bros. horn grip cap with gold plate and solid red recoil pad. Parker Bros. manufactured only about 125 of these AH Grade shotguns with pistol grip stocks and only approximately 92 total in 12 gauge. LOP 13 1/2".
