Established by Charles Parker shortly after the Civil War, this company has produced a wide variety of shotguns in different styles over the years. Parker shotguns are perhaps the best known of all American shotguns manufactured and are among the most collectable. This shotgun This shotgun was manufactured in 1921, and features blue barrels and trigger guard and casehardened remaining parts. The concave matte solid rib has an extension, single nickel bead sight and is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. U.S.A. ACME. STEEL" with pointing arrows at each end. Chambered for 2 1/2 inch shells, with ejectors. The action, trigger guard, forearm hardware and break lever are highly engraved with fine floral scroll patterns. Amid the engraving on each side of the action is a hunting dog and engraved "PARKER BROS". The underside of the action has two setters in a field scene directly ahead of the trigger guard and a field scene with a pheasant in flight at the front. The water table is dished and marked "PARKER BROS" and "AH" on the right side and the serial number and "6" on the left. Tang safety and double triggers. The forearm and pistol grip stock are checkered select walnut. The Fleur de Lis stock flats have a checkered recess in the center, the checkering on the wrist has a fancy border, there is a horn grip cap with a gold oval in the center and the bare butt is checkered with an engraved skeletonized buttplate. Parker Bros. manufactured approximately 167 of these A Grade shotguns, only 6 in 28 gauge. Complete in a contemporary hard leather takedown case with leather corner protectors, brass hardware and green lining.

Near mint as professionally refurbished. The barrels retain approximately 95% of the thinning blue finish which is turning a slightly plum blue. The trigger guard retains about 50% bright blue with the balance having a smooth gray. The action retains approximately 60% bright case colors concentrated mainly on the top portion, including the upper tang. The balance shows strong faded colors mixed with a smooth gray. The forearm hardware shows some faded original colors with the balance a smooth satin gray. The wood remains excellent with almost all of the finish remaining, a few scuffs and scrapes in the finish and overall a few minor dings and handling marks. The checkering remains crisp. The buttplate retains most of the original finish with some thinning and edge wear. The matte and marking on the rib remain sharp. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent.
