Gupta Dynasty, Chandragupta II alias Vikramaditya (375-415 CE), Gold Dinar, “Horseman to Right” type, Obv: the king riding a horse to the left, nimbate, his sash flowing out behind him, Brahmi legend "Paramabhagavato (Maharajadhiraja Sri) Chandragupta" around the field, the letter 'Paramabha' of the legend placed between the head of the king & the head of the horse, Rev: the goddess Lakshmi, nimbate, seated facing left on a draped stool, in her left hand holding a lotus with a long stalk and her right hand holding a noose, a tamgha in the left field, Brahmi legend “Ajitavikrama” on the right, a dotted border around the field, 8.0g, 18.91mm, (Unlisted), superb quality, sharply struck, gash on edge otherwise almost uncirculated, Extremely Rare in this grade.
Note: This combination type usually has a crescent behind the king’s head which is missing in this specimen, and a crescent like symbol on the goddess head on the reverse is visible.
