King George V, Censor Cover, 1917, On Active Service, Addressed to Captain W. M. Yale, 55th Coker's Rifles (Y. Y.), KOHAT | N.W.F.P. | INDIA. 55th Coker's Rifles (Frontier Force), was a regiment of the British Indian Army, it was raised in 1849 as the 1st Regiment of Punjab Infantry. The letter was redirected from KOHAT to A.R.O. Pathans, Peshawar, and delivered there on 9-3-1917, the letter was Censored in Two places and Bear seal within concentric circles, “PASSED | D | CENSOR”, in Magenta Colour and Green label affixed with a text, “OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW”, very good condition, a cover with rare cancellations and label on it, Extremely Rare.
