This is a fantastic, possibly "once in a lifetime" find for the advanced Luger or World War II Military collector or pair of P.08 Nazi Navy Luger pistols. This is the only set of Matching consecutively Navy numbered Luger pistols we have ever seen or even had the pleasure or actually selling. As noted the "A" lot has a 1940 dated, "42 Code" Luger pistol as manufactured under contract for the German Kriegsmarine. Note the Luger pistols themselves are not consecutively numbered, they carry consecutively "German Navy" property numbers on the rear grip straps. This is even more rare in that these two Lugers from the same serial number/letter suffix block, were made in the same month, shipped to the "North Sea" group, then numbered consecutively "N/4944 and N/4945", stayed together and then brought home together, that's "73" years! To top it off they are both in like new unissued unaltered original condition. What a find! This specific Luger is dated 1940 on the chamber and it has the earlier "42" wartime Mauser code on the front toggle. The barrel extension has the earlier double "Eagle/655" Waffenamt next to the single eagle firing proof with both of those proofs also located on the rear left and right side of the barrel. This Luger has the full serial number (1080g) stamped on the front of the frame with (1081) stamped on the major components with the last two digits (80) on the various smaller parts. As noted this pistol is correctly numbered on the back strap "N/4945" This model has the standard inverted "v" front sight with the fixed rear sight and the standard safety and extractor markings. This Luger is accompanied by two original WWII blue type three Army style magazines with pinned aluminum bases that are both matching to this Luger. The magazine bodies are marked "122/Eagle 37" and the bases are stamped "N/4945X/1080/g and N/4945/1080/g/+". As noted this beautiful Luger is also accompanied by an equally rare "Kriegsmarine" marked black leather holster. This holster is stamped on the back "CARL ACKVA/BAD KREUZNACH/1939/Eagle WaA235/Eagle/M". Inside the flap it is ink marked "Walther Luenetsen/Luger 2525N (probably the veterans name) with the upper front stamped "14.S.ST..A.2525". As noted this exceptional Luger is complete with an original Eagle/655 marked takedown tool.
