This is an outstanding late WWI production Model 1914 Navy Luger that was standard issue to the Imperial German Navy luger. These Navy luger have the unique two position; 100 and 200 meter rear sight with the longer 6 inch barrel. This model is easily identified as it lacks the grip safety and is dated over the chamber; the left frame rail and left side of the front sight base. This example is all correctly dated 1917 in the three noted areas with the "DWM" monogram on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel and barrel extension are both "Crown" and "Crown/M" proofed. It is fitted with the distinctive 6 inch Navy style barrel with the standard blade front sight and correct two position (100 and 200) Navy rear sight. It is fitted with an original matching WWI Navy magazine that has the nickel plated magazine body with the Navy wooden bottom base stamped with a small Crown over "M" proof/9237. This excellent luger is complete with a brown leather Navy magazine that is marked on the back side: "JOH HUBER/SATTLEREI/MUNCHEN".
