Auction Details

We are extremely pleased and excited to present this extraordinary offering of firearms and military-related items for auction. We believe it will be the most significant firearms auction of the year. Our October 2004 sale, at nearly $9 million, was the highest grossing firearms auction ever held in the world and this auction definitely has the potential to exceed that. This sale offers fabulous diversity, important offerings and numerous historical lots. Session I: Monday evening, commencing at 5:30pm will include a small but interesting selection of antique and collectible firearms and accessories. Session II: The Michael Adamson Collection will include what we believe is the most significant collection of Civil War memorabilia to ever come to public auction. In addition to the tremendous diversity, quality and rarity is the fact that the entire collection is being offered unreserved! Session III: Will begin with a spectacular offering of Civil War and Confederate items (none of which are from the Michael Adamson Collection). Offered will be a large assortment of rare flags including what is considered to be the most important Confederate battle flag ever offered at auction, that of the 4th Tennessee Infantry; a small 14-star silk flag from a member of Ethan Allen’s Green Mountain Boys. In addition to numerous American flags will also be an extraordinarily rare and desirable flag and flagpole from Napoleon Bonaparte’s launch at Elba. Also included is a vast array of fine quality Civil War carbines and rifles; a large and expansive lot of Confederate and Union swords (many presentation examples) and fighting knives; innumerable Union and Confederate handguns and a diversity of other quality Civil War related items, rare belt buckles, fighting knives and historical materials. This session will also include an expansive offering of important early longarms and handguns including some very rare I.D.’d militia and Colonial-era arms. A fabulous historic powder horn dated 1755 belonging to Lt. John Bridge may have been used at the Lexington & Concord. Also included is a wonderful assortment of fine North American Indian items including the collection of the famous photographer Carl Moon. Also, an important historical beaded bag formerly belonging to the famous Canadian half-breed Louis Riel. Session IV: Thursday, October 6th will include probably the finest offering of shotguns we’ve ever presented. A part of this fabulous offering will be the collection of the late Jim Parker who collected his namesake, Parker shotguns. This is unquestionably the largest offering of Parker shotguns ever presented at public auction and includes some extraordinary examples. Also offered will be various other high-grade non-Parker shotguns from various other collections and estates, Purdy’s, Boss’, Grand Americans, etc. An extremely high-quality offering of Winchesters will be presented on Thursday. Many rare Henrys, including iron frame serial number “2”, a fabulous engraved serial number “17” and “18”; also rare Model 66’s; high-grade 86’s and more! A fabulous array of advertising signs and cartridge boards; fine artwork; extremely rare military prototype rifles; an excellent last-minute offering of rare Smith & Wessons; the finest engraved Model 93 Marlin to ever come at auction. On the 5th & 6th we will be offering probably one of the finest Colt revolvers we have ever presented at auction. With numerous outstanding and rare examples such as the extraordinary cased Nimschke engraved “Peacemaker”. Many Colts are inscribed and/or have a historic association.
