Extra Large Flintlock Blunderbuss of Naval style with iron barrel and forged iron bracket to mount on rail of ship. The lock is marked “Tower” at the rear with crown at center. The breech end of the barrel showsBritish proofs and the gun shows brass English Military style mounts. The barrel measures 26” in length and approx 3-1/4” across the center with approx 2-1/2” bore. The stock shows a light refinish and a couple of repairs in the area of the bracket. A forged ram rod of correct style and age is included. The lock parts are all original. Circa 18th century. Gun weights approx. 22lbs. From an old N.Y. collector’s estate. Est.;$3,500-$7,000.
