This auction is for a perfectly exquisite, hand-stitched, cotton patchwork quilt. It is made from some of the prettiest and most unusual flour/sugar sacking fabric I've ever seen and even though they were pieced years and years ago, they are pristine in condition, with no fading, dirt, stains, tears, or problems of any kind.

Please note that this is a QUILT TOP, which still needs to be quilted to be completed.

I'm limited to only four photos on this page, so each photo shows one-quarter of the complete quilt, to allow you to see each quadrant more closely. I'll be glad to send you more photos on request, if you'd like to see close-ups of the stitches, some of the lovely prints, or any other details you might want to see.

The stitches are a joy to behold. They are even, straight and near-perfectly spaced and proportioned, consistent measurements of 6 to 8 stitches per inch showing on one side of the fabric or 12 to 16 per inch if you count the stitches on both sides.

Although I'm certainly not a quilt expert, I think this is close to being museum quality and certainly one that any collector will be proud to score. I have five or six of these quilt tops, all pieced by the same talented seamstress, all delightful to behold, with vividly colored flour and sugar sack fabrics in pristine, perfect condition.
Patchwork of this quality doesn't come along very often, especially from the depression era and still unused and undamaged in any way! Don't ...
