<B>Explorer Robert E. Peary Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> on Grand Union Hotel letterhead, 1 page, 4.75" x 8", New York , Dec. 3, 1907, to a Mr. Rideing. In full: "<I>Glad to hear you are back from your long journey. Am just getting where I can overhaul my papers & material. Will try to prepare & save copy for you.</B></I>" The recipient is likely writer William H. Rideing. The date suggests that Peary is organizing his journals and notes made during a recent attempt to reach the North Pole. Peary made several such attempts between 1898 and 1905. Peary's final, and successful, attempt would begin the following year in 1908. <I>From the collection of Henry E.
