Experimental Winchester Model 1400 Semi-Automatic 20 Gauge Shotgun From the John M. Olin Collection

As confirmed by the copy of a letter from Eugene F. Williams, Jr., this experimental shotgun was once the personal property of the late John M. Olin. The shotgun features an experimental aluminum Winchoke barrel which has a 2 3/4 inch chamber. Winchester factory proofs are present on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The bolt is jeweled. The special high grade walnut forearm and straight grip stock are checkered with the buttstock having a "JMO" initial oval on the underside for John M. Olin and a leather covered recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Excellent. The shotgun retains 98% plus original blue finish showing a few minor handling marks. The wood is very fine with a couple hairline cracks along the grain of the buttstock and a few minor handling marks. The checkering is crisp overall.
