Experimental Winchester Model 1200 Slide Action 20 Gauge Shotgun From the John M. Olin Collection

As confirmed by the copy of a letter from Eugene F. Williams, Jr., this experimental shotgun was once the personal property of the late John M. Olin. The shotgun features an experimental aluminum Winchoke barrel which has a 2 3/4 inch chamber. The barrel has the Winchester legend on the left side and factory proofs are present on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The special straight grip stock has a "JMO" initial oval for John M. Olin on the underside and is fitted with a leather covered pad. Note that standard production Model 1200s had a pistol grip stock. The high grade walnut forearm and stock are checkered. Length of pull is 14 inches.

Excellent. The shotgun retains 97% original blue finish showing minor slide wear and a few minor handling marks. The wood is also excellent with some scattered minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. A crack is present on the recoil pad. Mechanically excellent.
