Group of eight Exide glass batteries with embossed aqua glass and all contents, as removed by permission from a mine in Utah. These rare early batteries powered underground lighting. Invented in 1888 by WW Gibbs for the Electric Storage Battery Co., these batteries later gave way to more hardened cases that were acid resistant and less breakable. These are very rare, and these are the first we've seen in 40 years in complete and near perfect condition. Pollock Collection.
