Exhibition Quality Kurt Jaeger Signed Master Engraved Silver Inlaid Colt Second Series Woodsman Match Target Semi-Automatic Stoeger Arms Shipped Pistol with Factory Letter and Ivory Grips

Manufactured in 1953 and subsequently elaborately embellished by Master Engraver Kurt Jaeger. The barrel, slide and frame sides feature nearly full coverage of floral scroll engraving. The sides of the front sight ramp have a geometric design and the grip straps are checkered. The bottom of the back strap is signed "K JAGER/MAINZ". The Rampant Colt above the "MATCH TARGET" marking on the left side of the frame is silver inlaid. The top of the slide has an oval panel with silver inlaid border and the silver inlaid monogram "CTJ". The left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" and the serial number is marked on the right front of the frame. Ramped blade front and adjustable rear sights, "COLT/CAL 22 L.R." marked magazine and fitted with smooth thumb rest ivory grips. Information provided by the consignor states that the grips were made by John Guest from Dallas and past President of the Colt Collectors Association. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 10 to Stoeger Arms Corp. in Long Island City, N.Y. on July 15, 1953.

Masterfully embellished. The pistol is in near mint condition with only the very slightest handling/storage marks. The grips are as new with a very attractive color and grain. The engraving and markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
