This is a decorative (exhibit) size of an abadeh hand woven Rug. Originally, carpets from abadeh had patterns of vases and rather insignificant colors but this one has a unique design and shows that its weavers were inspired by the qashqai nomads who had their summer pastures in the area. the carpets have a red-brown nuance combined with blue and with medallions in the middle and corners. Made of lamb wool on cotton foundation all naturally dyed. abadeh rug are known for their good utility carpets since they are very firm, hardy and durable. Right between shiraz and Isfahan lies the city of abadeh. To a visitor it does not offer much but, utility carpets of good quality are manufactured in this city. Size: 4 feet 7 inches X 5 feet 6 inches. Country of origin: Iran.
