This is a beautiful example of an extremely rare post-WWII Krieghoff Luger pistol as assembled in 1945. These have been termed as "PX" lugers as they were produced by using original Krieghoff factory manufactured parts that were assembled into completed pistols for sales to the GI in the German run PXs. Hence the collector term "PX" luger. There are approximately 233 produced in total with the noted serial numbers being from 12-245. They will have a mix of early and late production parts with and without proofmarks, as they were using any parts found in the Krieghoff factory. This specific pistol has an unmarked chamber area with an early C-1 type toggle assembly that has the left arrow outside the "H" and the right arrow tip at the bottom of the letter "K", with the slightly thicker "SUHL" markings below. The front of the frame was originally stamped "101" which was factory restamped with a "2" over the zero. The left side of the barrel extension and back side of the side plate are stamped "121". The right side of the barrel extension and left side of the breechblock are both stamped with the Luftwaffe Eagle/2 proof and or a single Luftwaffe Eagle firing proof, with the remaining parts being unnumbered or unproofed. It is fitted with a set of late WWII black checkered Mauser type plastic grips are are unmarked on the back sides. It is complete with one original late WWII milled, blued magazine with the black plastic base with the center pin. The spine of the magazine was factory etched with the serial number "124".
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: black checkered plastic
Serial Number: 121
Condition:
Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish overall, with minor edge and high spots wear with some finish loss on the side plate hump. The various smaller parts have 90% of their bright, original straw colors. The late war grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering showing minor handling marks overall. This is really an exceptionally nice all original, post WWII Krieghoff "PX" luger pistol, that would look exceptionally in an advanced Luger collection.
