Shah Alam Bahadur (AH 1119-1124 /1707-1712 AD), Mailapur Mint, Gold Mohur, AH (11)21 /3 RY, Date & regnal year reverse side, Obv: Persian legend “Sikka Mubarak Shah Alam Bahadur Badshah Ghazi”, Rev: Persian legend “sana 3 julus, (11)21 Hijri" & "zarb Mailapur" at the bottom, 10.90g, 20.87mm, ( KM # 356.8, Date & RY combination unlisted), sharply struck, AUNC, Exceptionally Rare.
Note: Mailapur or Mylapore, now a part of the modern city of Chennai, was captured by Aurangzeb during his rule. The mint in Mailapur was active only in the last four years of Aurangzeb's reign and the initial three years of Shah Alam Bahadur I. This mohur, with an unlisted date and RY combination, is not listed in the KM catalog. Gold mohurs from this mint are exceptionally rare.
