Exceptional pair of Bernadelli 12ga side by side shotguns with Holland and Holland style hand-detachable sidelocks, finely scroll engraved in floral motifs, English style straight grips, single triggers, autoejectors, hand-filed non-ventilated ribs, and general best-quality workmanship throughout. Serial #2422 and 2423. See lot #278 for consecutive two-gun cased set. Both guns show 26” barrels. Barrel #1 is choked approx.“Modified” (right) and “Modified”. Barrel #2 is choked approx. “Improved Cylinder” (right) and “Modified” (left). The stocks measure 14-7/8” from the trigger to the end of the checkered wood butt. The pair are blued withbright French grey frames and actions. The Bernadelli case and owner’s plaque are factory marked “R.E.P.”, with extra pair of locks engraved to match for each gun, with original paperwork. In fine to excellentcondition showing just slight use, possible test-firing only, 98%-99%. Several old-time shotgun dealers have viewed this pair and Lot 278 and all concurred that they had never seen a higher grade pair of Bernadelli guns.
