Manufacturer: Krieghoff Heinrich Gun Co Model: Luger
This is an excellent example of a late 1940 production Krieghoff Luger pistol, manufactured in a limited quantity for the Luftwaffe, (approximately 4,500). The pistol has the distinctive Krieghoff blue finish with the straw colored safety lever, takedown lever, trigger and ejector. The chamber is dated "1940" and the toggle link is stamped with the Krieghoff trademark and "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL". The right side of the receiver is marked with the original Luftwaffe proof, next to an early Stage II and Mid-Stage II Test Proof. The underside of the barrel has the single Luftwaffe proof/bore diameter/Luftwaffe Stage II proof over the serial number. The breechblock and toggle both have the Luftwaffe early stage II parts proof. The full serial number "11112" is located on the front of the frame, the underside of the barrel and on the left side of the receiver. The last two digits of the serial number "12", are visible on the inside of the side plate, the inside of the lock bolt, the trigger, safety latch, thumb safety lever, the breechblock, both toggle links and the connecting pin. The pistol is fitted with the original black plastic checkered grips and it has the matching numbered magazine with the blue body and the pinned aluminum base marked with the Mid Stage II Test proof over "11112". The side of the body is marked "122" over an "eagle/37" proofmark. Comes with an extra blue magazine with pinned aluminum base marked with a Krieghoff eagle proof over "11173". The lower left side is marked with the "fxo" over the "Eagle 37" Waffenamt proof with PO8 marked on the rear edge.

Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: plastic
Serial Number: 11112
Condition:
Excellent. The pistol retains 97% plus original blue finish with some wear on the edges and high spots overall. There is some thinning and wear on the lower back strap/stock lug, the muzzle area, left side of the front sight barrel band, and the center section of the barrel. The various small parts retain 99% of their professionally restrawed color. The grips are excellent with some light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine. The extra magazine is very good. A very nice example of a scarce 1940 dated Krieghoff Luger.
