Exceptional and Very Desirable WWII Nazi 1940 Krieghoff Luger Pistol
This is an excellent example of a late 1940 production Krieghoff luger pistol as manufactured by Krieghoff Waffenfabrik at Suhl, Germany. The pistol has the distinctive Krieghoff blue with matte finish in the frame recesses, with the straw colored safety lever, take down lever, trigger and ejector are straw finished. The pistol is fitted with the original black, checkered, plastic grips and it has the correct style late "fxo" marked magazine with the blued body and the pinned aluminum base; the right side of the body is marked with the "fxo" over the "Eagle 37" Waffenamt proof with PO8 marked on the rear edge. The base plate is numbered "11173" along with a single Krieghoff Eagle proof. The pistol chamber is dated "1940". The toggle link is roll-stamped with the Krieghoff trademark and "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL". The right side of the receiver is marked with the original Luftwaffe proof, next to an early stage II and mid-stage 2 Test Proof. The underside of the barrel has the single Luftwaffe proof/ bore diameter/ Luftwaffe stage 2 proof over the serial number. The breechblock and toggle both have the Luftwaffe early stage II parts proof. The full serial number, "11112" is located on the front of the frame, the underside of the barrel and on the left side of the receiver. The last two digits of the serial number, "12", are visible on the inside of the side plate, the inside of the lock bolt, the trigger, safety latch, thumb safety lever, the breechblock, both toggle links and the connecting pin.
