This is an excellent example of a 1940 Dated WWII Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with desirable "Eagle/L" Police proof, that also carries the desirable "SU75" proof on the barrel. This proof signifies that it was a Simson/Ulbright contract barrel that was used only on these early 1940 Police contract lugers. The top of the chamber area stamped 1940, for the year of manufacture with the Mauser Banner logo on the front toggle. The standard "Eagle/L" Police proof is stamped on the right side of the barrel extension with the Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof on the left side of the barrel extension and the breechblock. The full serial number "4741x" is stamped on the front of the frame with "4741" stamped on the left side of the barrel extension, with no number on the underside of the barrel. The last two digits of the serial number "41" are stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two original, type two, all blue, Police magazines that are stamped on the aluminum bases, "2/4741/x" and "3/4741/x" respectively. It is complete with outstanding 1940 dated brown Police leather holster that is marked on the back "SCHAMBACH & Co./BERLIN/1940/Police Eagle proofmark", and unmarked takedown tool. There are GI names and unit locations written in ink inside the flap.
