Exceptional "Undated" Mauser Banner Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine

This is a beautiful example of a super rare, "undated" Mauser Banner Luger pistol. These commercial contract Mauser Banner Lugers were manufactured from 1935 to 1942 intermixed with the various other commercial sales and Military/Police contract Lugers. Although this exceptional example is undated and carries a very early serial number, (1080 with no letter suffix) indicating that it was probably produced in late 1939, early 1940 time frame as it has all blue finish as implemented in late 1937 with the "Eagle/N" proofmark used up to late 1939 with the "PO8" marked frame, also introduced in 1939. These true commercial Mauser Banner Lugers are very scarce and highly sought after by collectors, as no more than a few hundred were made throughout the entire production cycle and they all feature excellent workmanship, with a beautiful blue finish. As noted this example has the blank chamber with the "Mauser Banner" logo on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the "Eagle/N" Commercial proofmark and "P.08" stamped on the left side of the frame. The extractor and safety are marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively, with standard sights. This beautiful pistol is fitted with one blue unmarked milled magazine with matching base plate stamped, "1080".
