Manufactured in 1908 this is an example of a rare Grade 6 Autoloading Trap shotgun featuring an extensive engraving. Single bead front sight on a solid rib with the choke marked "FULL". The left side of the barrel has the two line address/patent dates marking with each side of the barrel at the breech having a 5" wedge of scroll and punch dot engraving. The receiver features an extensive scroll and punch dot engraving that incorporates three game scene panels on both of the sides. The left side features two dogs on point flanked by a grouse and a flying quail. The right side features two flying ducks flanked by flying woodcocks. The trigger guard features a custom factory engraving: scrollwork with the initials "A.C.B." The safety has been removed. Was made without a magazine cutoff. Nicely figured triple-x-fancy walnut round knob pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering on the forearm and grip area, blank buttstock initial oval, and an unmarked leather faced solid recoil pad. Condition: Excellent. The shotgun retains 97% original blue finish with some minor wear on the barrel underside, some minor muzzle wear, and some scattered minor edge wear. The wood is also excellent with a small hairline crack near the upper tang and some textured varnish on the forearm (right side), along with some minor dings and scratches. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. What a spectacular factory engraved pre-model II Remington shotgun!
