This model is the modified version of the Model 71 with the addition of a tubular 8 round magazine. The top of the rear barrel flat is marked "Crown / SPANDAU", the left side is marked with the serial number, "Crown / F.W." flanked by two crown proofs and "11" at the breech and the right side is marked with four crown over Gothic letter proofs. The top of the front receiver ring is marked with a crown over Gothic letter proof and the left side with the matching serial number. The left side receiver wall is marked "I.G. Mod 71/84" and "1881." is marked on the right rear. Blade front sight and folding rear sight graduated to 1600 meters. The rifle is mounted with a full length straight grip stock secured by three barrel bands with a bayonet lug on the right front band, steel buttplate regimental marked "G.R.S. / 3.127.", sharp proofmarks on the right side and in the grip area, and sling swivels. Complete with a cleaning rod and muzzle/front sight cover. All visible numbers match.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 98% original blue finish with some flaking on the bayonet lug and center barrel band. There is some minor oxidation on the buttplate and some dried oil on the tang. The receiver remains bright with a small amount of mild discoloration. The stock is excellent with a few overall scattered minor dings and dents. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent. An exceptionally nice Model 71/84 rifle.
