Exceptional six gallon salt glaze slave jug water cooler attributed to Manhattan, New York. The impressed floral design is filled in with a vibrant cobalt blue which is a characteristics of Thomas Commeraw Stoneware. The jug has been personalized with the initials "J.R." in cobalt on the front of the jug. A large "6" is stamped near the spout of the jug. Two large strap handles are applied and connect at the spout and rest on the shoulders of the jug. The handles are accented with cobalt at the spout of the jug. At the base is a round bung hole with a cork.
