Colt Ace .22 Automatic pistol manufactured in 1933. The pistol has the Colt commercial blue finish, checkered walnut grips and is complete with the original ''two-tone'' magazine stamped "COLT/ACE/.22 L R" on the floor plate. The barrel is blued with a polished chamber. The pistol has an adjustable target rear sight and half moon front sight. The mainspring housing, correctly, lacks the lanyard loop found on Model 1911A1 pistols. The right side of the slide has the distinctive marking "COLT" followed by "ACE" enclosed in a diamond and ".22 LONG/RIFLE". The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the elongated, two line, Colt Hartford address and patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt trademark in front of the serrations. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number "4421" behind the disconnector hole. A "3" assembler's mark and the Colt "triangle/VP" proofmark are stamped on the left trigger guard bow. The top of the frame is stamped with an "R" production order mark to the right of the disconnector hole. The Colt Ace was introduced by Colt in 1931 as a companion arm to the Model 1911A1 Government Model. Approximately 10,745 Ace pistols were manufactured by Colt before production ceased in July 1941. The pistol is complete with the original purple cardboard carton. The pistol serial number "4421" is written in grease pencil on the bottom of the carton. One end of the carton has the blue "ACE" label with white print. The interior of the carton lid and bottom are printed with Colt advertising. The carton is complete with a blued steel screwdriver and some original packing material.

Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 4421
Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the bright original high-polish, commercial blue, finish. The only wear is some minor finish loss on the edges of the slide. The checkering on the excellent plus walnut grips is very sharp, the stock have not been oiled and the stock screws have all of the original blue finish. The two-tone magazine retains close to 98% of the finish. The cardboard carton is in very good condition; wear is limited to several minor dents in the lid, some scuff marks on the edges and some minor flaking on the corners. The tool is in excellent condition. This is an excellent example of a 1933 production Colt Ace with the original, serial numbered carton.
