A) These ornate German target pistols feature a heavy solid brass frame and iron barrel. The first 1 5/8" and rear 4 3/8" of the barrel are octagon and round in between. The top flats on the muzzle end are decorated with floral leaf engraving, there is light floral leaf engraving on the front edge of the rear portion, the left upper flat is marked "G. BARTELS KONIGL. HOFBUCHSENMACHER." and the right upper flat is marked "IN WIESBADEN & ZELLA.". The left rear flat is marked "0,2gr11.G.P. M/71. / 1,8 grRI.". The bottom barrel flat ahead of the frame is marked with a crown over "B", "G" and "U" proof and "527". Blade front sight and decorative adjustable rear sight with floral leaf and geometric engraving. The brass frame is relief engraved with vine and leaf designs with a matte background. The engraving pattern extends to the trigger guard, grip straps and buttcap. The bottom of the frame is marked with a crown over "B" and "U" proofmark and the serial number is marked in an oval panel on the butt. Tip up action with feather pattern engraved release button, finger spur on the trigger guard, checkered trigger and hammer and fitted with two piece checkered ebony grips.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 50% original bright blue finish with the balance having a smooth brownish gray patina. The frame shows some strong traces of the darkened original silver on the upper edge and in the protected areas of the trigger guard, otherwise the brass has an aged patina. The grips are excellent with a minor scratch on the upper right panel, light handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The engraving is sharp. Mechanically excellent.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 60% original blue finish with the balance having a smooth brown patina. The frame has an aged patina with strong traces of the darkened original silver on the upper edge and protected areas of the trigger guard. The grips are excellent with only a couple small minor dings and sharp checkering. The engraving remains sharp. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
