Manufactured from 1873 to 1910 with an estimate of only a few thousand made. The left side of the receiver is marked with the six line patent marking and the matching serial number is marked on the lower tang and bottom barrel flat under the barrel. The barrel is fitted with a Beach combination folding front sight, an adjustable rear sporting sight and an additional folding peep sight installed at the breech. Blue finish with casehardened receiver and mounted with a smooth forearm with casehardened forend insert and straight grip "perch-belly" stock with casehardened carbine style buttplate.

Condition: Near Mint. The barrel, breech block, trigger and hammer retain 98% plus of the original blue finish showing only the slightest hint of edge wear. The receiver retains 98% original bright case colors vivid and rich with the most minor spotting on the lower tang. The forend cap retains 99% original bright case colors and the buttplate retains 95% original bright case colors with some fading to gray on the heel and toe. The screw heads and both rear sights exhibit much of their stunning and original handsome niter blue finish. The wood is also excellent with sharp and crisp edges. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. Simply put, the definition of new.
