The 98K was the primary service rifle used by all German forces throughout the war. The top of the receiver ring is marked with a "eagle / WaA623" proof over "Mod 98 / bnz 45", the wartime code for Steyr-Daimler and the year of manufacture and the right side is marked with an "eagle / 623" proof. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the Nazi firing proof. The rifle is equipped with a hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. All phosphate finish with a blue bolt assembly. Stamped barrel bands (secured by screws), floor plate and trigger guard. The rifle is mounted with a laminated stock and hand guard with cupped buttplate and brown leather sling with diamond pattern. The right side of the stock is marked with an "eagle/swastika" over "H" designating issue to the Army. The barrel and bolt serial numbers match. Appears unissued

Condition: Excellent plus. The rifle retains 99% of the original phosphate finish. The bolt assembly retains 95% original blue finish with wear from normal usage. The stock is excellent with only a few minor dings and handling marks. The sling is excellent. The markings remain clear. The action is excellent.
