Manufactured in 1956, the introductory year for the Second Generation Single Action Army. Single line address on top of barrel, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and left side of the grip straps under the grips and the matching assembly number (162) is marked on the right rear of the frame and on the loading gate. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt at the top. The grips are marked "808" on the inside. Complete with the correct hinged lid black box faintly numbered to another gun, with manual Colt warranty card and "Handling the Handgun" brochure.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% plus original blue and bright casehardened finish showing a very light cylinder drag line, a few very tiny dings on the butt and light handling/storage marks. The grips are also excellent with light handling/storage marks and sharp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The box is good with a separated corner on the lid, some edge wear along the front of the lid and part of the label flaked off.
