Manufacturer: Marlin Firearms Co Model: 1936
This is just a beautiful all original unaltered Marlin Model 1936 lever action rifle with a beautiful original casehardened receiver. These rifles were equivalent to or better lever action rifles than the Winchesters as they have a very strong locking block with the desirable side ejection. This is a rare second model with the sure grip semi-beavertail forend and non-fluted pistol grip stock. The barrel is marked on the left side with the Marlin Firearms factory marking over "30-30 Cal.- - - - - - - - SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL". The top of the receiver has the standard "MARLIN SAFETY" and the top of the tang is marked "MARLIN/MODEL 1936". The Model 1936 was a fairly short lived model/variation as it was later changed in 1938 to the Model 36 and eventually the Model 336 that introduced the receiver and bolt configuration change.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue and casehardened finish with much of the original factory applied shellac/varnish on the casehardened receiver. The stock and forend are also both excellent showing some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Just a beautiful example of an early Marlin Model 1936 rifle.
