Exceptional Double Signed, Engraved and Gold Inlaid Belgian Browning Superposed Midas Grade Broadway Trap Shotgun with Case

This beautiful example was manufactured in 1972. It has extensive floral scroll engraving on the receiver, trigger guard, break lever, safety/selector switch, barrel shoulders, rear portion of the top barrel and on the forearm hardware. There are gold inlaid game bird scenes on both sides of the receiver and on the bottom of the receiver. The left side has three gold inlaid pheasants in a wooded and grassy scene. The right side has three ducks taking flight from a wooded lake scene. The bottom of the receiver has a gold inlaid quail in flight. Both sides of the receiver are signed at the bottom rear "BLEUS" and at the lower rear of the game bird scene "C.BAERTEN". The barrels have two white bead sights on the broadway rib, are both choked "*" (full/full) and have 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. Mounted on a beautifully figured, decoratively checkered beavertail walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with Browning recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 3/8 inches. With a tan Browning leatherette takedown hardcase.

Excellent, 99% of the original blue finish remains with some minor forearm wear, some minor safety/selector switch wear and some scattered minor marks. The wood is excellent with a few scattered minor dings and scratches along with extensive crazing on the sides of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good. It isn't often that an engraved Browning is signed four times!
