Exceptional David Harris Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Ivory Grips
This is a beautiful example of a cattle brand and scroll custom engraved 2nd Generation Colt Single Action Army revolver done by Master Engraver David Wade Harris. Harris was taught the art of cattle brand engraving by Weldon Bledsoe, who in turn learned the art from Cole Agee. Except for the trigger guard, front strap, cylinder flutes and hammer, the revolver is covered with cattle brands and floral scroll engraving with a stippled background. The most recognizable cattle brand is the 2 lazy 2 P brand on the right side of the barrel. In addition there is a spur engraved on the muzzle end of the barrel with the rowel extending onto the sides of the front sight, which also has a stippled background, and there is a long horn steer head on the ejector housing. The standard barrel and frame markings remain with the left side barrel marking actually amid the scroll engraving. The revolver is fitted with smooth two piece ivory grips with silver Colt medallions. Complete with a Colt Custom Shop blue box.
