This model was manufactured specifically for the Portuguese Army during the era of Manuel II who ruled for only two years. Approximately 5,000 were manufactured 1908 through 1910. The top of the chamber is marked with the large Portuguese Crown over the "M2" crest and the top of the front toggle link is marked with the script "DWM". The extractor is marked "CARREGADA", it has a grip safety and no stock lug. The safety area on the toggle housing is unmarked, with the "safe" position correctly left in the white. The only proof marks are a triangle in a circle proof on the left side of the barrel extension and the bottom of the barrel. It has the matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel and the front of the frame. The trigger, takedown lever, magazine release, ejector and thumb safety are straw colored. The grips are checkered walnut with matching serial numbers to the gun and the magazine is nickel plated with the unnumbered wooden base.

Condition:
Excellent. The pistol retains 98% original blue finish with some mild wear on the heel of the back strap and some light edge wear overall. There is a small ding on top of the chamber. The small components retain 97% original straw color. The grips are also excellent with some light wear to the otherwise sharp checkering. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
