The factory letter confirms with features including the 3 1/2 inch barrel with the grips "Not Listed." The revolver was shipped to the London Agency at 14 Pall Mall, London, England, on March 11, 1889. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address on the top, "38" stamped on the underside and "COLT D.A. 38" in an acid etched panel on the left side. The Colt three line/ three date patent markings are stamped on the left side of the frame. The number "812" is on the rear cylinder face and the number "814" is on the loading gate. London "crown/ V" and "crown/ P" proof and inspection marks are stamped in each of the six cylinder flutes and on the underside of the barrel. Finished in high polish blue on the barrel, cylinder and grip straps, casehardened frame and loading gate, and niter blue on the screws, ejector pin, trigger and hammer. Fitted with checkered grips featuring the Rampant Colt.

Condition: Excellent, with 95% of the bright original blue finish, showing a small amount of brown patina on the gripstraps and cylinder, and scattered handling marks. Case colors are bright and vivid with a few patches of brown patina and the niter blue components are strong and fiery, with mild wear on the screws. Grips are very good, slightly undersized with mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent. An exceptional example of a British proofed, London Agency Colt Lighting DA Revolver.
